Shotley Peninsula Swimming Club (SPSC)

The SPSC has nearly 200 members - the Club is run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of the members to enjoy exercise, relaxation and sociability.  Swimming is every week apart from a short break over Christmas.  The Club is non-competitive and all you need to join is to be able to swim and be over the age of 18 years.  You do not have to be a champion swimmer – most of our members just enjoy the gentle exercise, although some have taken part in the Great East Swim at Alton Water and some use their sessions as a training opportunity in order to take part in Triathalon competitions.  ALL are welcome

The club uses the (25m) pool at The Ipswich Girls’ High School at Woolverstone.

There are 7 hourly sessions per week, Mondays 6.15-7.15pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6-7pm, 7-8pm and 8-9pm.  Each session is limited to a maximum of 30 swimmers with a lifeguard in attendance at all times.  The charge is £4.25 per session.
