The Parish Council has a Planning Committee, which sits on a Tuesday evening, every four weeks  preceding the full Parish Council meeting.

All of the agendas are published on the website and on the noticeboards around the parish 4 days before every meeting. Due to Sunday being an none workig day the agendas need to be published by the Thursday before the meeting is held on a Tuesday.

Any item that is to be discussed on the agenda will be published on the agenda - the committee does not allow any other business to take place.

The meetings are held in public, mostly in the Village Hall. 15 minutes are allocated for members of the public to speak at the meeting about any items that are on the agenda. Please note that the meeting is not a public meeting but a meeting of the Planning Committee that is held in public.

All minutes are uploaded to the website. Archived minutes (which are minutes and agendas that are from the previous years) are located in the archive folder at the top of the task bar.

At the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council which was held on the 4th of May 2021, 4 members were elected to the Planning Committee.

Cllr Rob Bareham elected Chairman

The other members being:

Cllr Dot Cordle, Cllr Colin Keeble, and Cllr Peter Ward.

For the terms of reference for the Planning Committee please view the below document.

Planning Terms of Reference

In most cases planning applications are the responsibility of the District Council and in our case Babergh is the District Council.

They inform us of any applications received by them from within the parish and they are obliged to take into consideration  any comments made by the Parish Council. On occasions  when the Parish Council asks extensions are given to Planning Applications.

Should you have any queries or comments about Planning Matters please contact the Parish Clerk:
